Welcome to the Elementary Butterfly Garden

How it all Started

Ms. Pratt had a dream of a garden flitting with butterflies and leaf munching caterpillars and critters of different kinds all living in a harmonious habitat called a butterfly garden. She woke up repeating to herself, "If I build it- they will come." She then replied to herself, "Self, I need some help!" So she searched high and she searched low until she found the nicest mommy named Mrs. Tracey whom she asked to color and draw until she came up with a garden to her liking. As Mrs. Tracey drew, she too began to dream of a fluttery garden of colors and thought it would be so much fun that she quit her job and came to work for FBCS. Ms. Pratt then shared her dream with her students, who caught the vision and in the enthusiasm that only 7th & 8th graders can exude, began to dig the grass up by its roots in order to make a bed for planting and get out of science class. Peeping from her window, Mrs. Pearce surveyed the digging and commenced to uncover the meaning of it all. While in the teacher workroom she caught wind of the scheming going on and not wanting to be left out of the ensuing fun, mentioned it to her nature-loving husband (who rushed to the everglades for rocks)and to her excitable principal (who rushed to Home Depot to buy a fountain). Dr. Bain thought it would be a wonderful club for the fourth grade. When asked if they would, they yelled, "Yippee! Yes, indeed we do!" And altogether they created the beautiful garden we now enjoy today.

Thank you!

An exuberant thanks goes out to the Roberts' family for their generous cash donation to the Butterfly Garden Club. We shall see the fruition of it soon!
