Don is a native of Atlanta, GA and a member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Don was led to the mission field after studying anthropology at Georgia State University. He entered NTM training in the fall of 1980. This training included NTM Bible School, Missions Institute, and Language and Linguistics Institute. Upon completion of his studies, Don joined NTM's Venezuelan missionary effort in 1984 where he served until 1991. Having served in NTM for over 12 years, Don brings a fresh, first hand view of the mission field and its opportunities. His experience covers geographic locations including Venezuela, Kenya, Liberia and Canada. Don met his wife, Janice, in 1992 while serving in Kenya. Janice is from Canada and was working with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Janice was the East African Finance Manager. They were married on August 21,1993. The Woodys are blessed with four children. Malaika, Jodiceson, Taivyn, and Cuaid. Don has recently been appointed as the Director of Church Relations for Central Florida. His primary goal is to challenge God's people with the needs for missionary service among unreached tribal peoples. Don also has a heart to encourage and build up the 'senders' of missionaries. As General Representative for NTM, Don challenges churches with the vision of world evangelization. He also challenges individuals to go into missions fulltime. Don is presenting the 'Maco Tribe Project" in Venezuela. For an exciting missions presentation for your Church, Sunday School, Christian School, home meeting or Missions Conference. |
