January Prayer and Update
Thanks for caring. If you only pray for these things once, we appreciate your interest in our lives. Reginas trip to Mexico went extremely well as she participated in 4 evangelical concerts with CAM missionaries supported by the church we attend. It was a wonderful experience for her. Proverbs is one of my favorite classes to teach so it made the last three weeks of the Fall semester fly by. Students are gone for the holidays and will return January 16. We had a quiet and enjoyable Christmas, though I did do a Christmas Eve service at Skiff Lake Bible Church and a Christmas morning service at Ganson Street Baptist Church. It was nice to be alone as a family and enjoy each other. We did a lot of last minute shopping but Regina and I thrive on shopping something related to my mother dragging my brother Dave & I to Philadelphia department stores on a regular basis when we were small. We will be at two different New Years Eve parties tonight. Since we have not put out a formal newsletter in nearly two years, you will be receiving a catch all summary of the last two years shortly. We wish you all a wonderful New Year as you walk with our Savior, allowing Him to use you greatly this coming year. Do not underestimate what God can do through you in the ordinary circumstances of life. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Eph 3:20 21)
Please pray for the following items.
· Sunday AM & PM messages at Ganson Street Baptist Church 1/1, 15, 22, & 29
· Class preparation and delivery for Hebrews & Philippians classes for the first three weeks of the Spring semester.
· It is our desire that these classes would be spiritually challenging, doctrinally accurate, refreshing, and encouraging. Students today arrive carrying immense burdens as a result of living in a fallen society that has cast off all concepts of absolutes from the Word of God.
· Wisdom in planning travels in the near future (April & May)
· Opportunity for Jenny to get to Georgia in the near future to visit with her family
· Our lives to be always growing in our awareness of His will and life in us
· Our lives to be used effectively in the lives of students, co-workers, and all with whom we come in contact
A note for those who do not regularly receive these monthly updates:
It was our desire to print a quarterly letter but with seminary classes, my
teaching load, and interim pulpit supply, that plan flopped miserably. Therefore
many of you who were expecting to hear from us quarterly have not heard from
us in two years. We have therefore done some reshuffling with mailing lists
and added some to this monthly list who do not normally receive it. In the interest
of not wanting to fill your mailboxes with unwanted monthly updates PLEASE feel
free to reply to this email and simply say remove from monthly
list and it will be done.
