JENNY SULLIVAN - BIOGRAPHY - WRITTEN 5/9/01
I (Jenny) was born in South Georgia into a family with 4 siblings. I was raised in a home where I was loved even though it was an "unsaved" home. My sister and I trusted the Lord while attending a Baptist church when I was 13 years old. At first I didn't understand eternal security, but a young man who had been a "Ranch kid" showed me the truth of it in Scripture. Since then I've never doubted my salvation.
After high school I completed Nurses training in Atlanta and later graduated from Florida Bible College. While I was a student there Mike Sullivan asked my sister for a date to an FBC banquet. When she was getting ready for their date I was busy giving her sisterly advice about how to act. Little did I know that she would spend the whole evening telling him how well he and I would go together! At any rate, he must have believed her because he chased me until I allowed him catch me. In l972 Dr. Swords announced our engagement in Chapel by reading a poem he wrote. We were married in May of that year. We began to wonder if the Lord was going to allow us to have children when in January of l982 a daughter was born into our family.
We named her Regina Ann. As you can imagine she has been a true blessing in our lives and has taught us much! Currently she is finishing her first year as a student at our sister school in Waukesha, WI. She is seeking to grow in the Lord and find His direction for her life.
Over the years I have worked in various nursing situations though I am no longer involved with it. At present I work as a secretary for an organized prayer system for our NTM missionaries. I also work in our New Tribes Bible Institute bookstore.
I am thankful to the Lord for saving me and for working in my life to draw me to a closer walk with Him. I am thankful He has provided Mike as a husband to face the challenges together of living in a sin-cursed world. We are thankful for the many friends who uphold us before the Lord in intercessory prayer and who sacrificially give to meet our needs in this work. "To God be the glory for the things He hath done…"
