Dear Friends and Supporters,
Sometimes « time » seems like a steamroller, nothing can stop it.
These
past several months have gone by too fast. Every time I thought about
writing a prayer letter, there seemed to be something on the verge of coming
up that would be good to include in the next letter. Then some things that
should have happened kept being delayed. Something like chasing the pot of
gold at the end of the rainbow.
First off, our latest good news is the birth of our first grandson. Simeon
Carlton Niblack was born to Rebecca and Samuel on Sept 20th. Go to
http://www.niblack.org/sam/simeon/ for the pictures. Judy and I spent 10
days in Toulouse after his birth. He is a beautiful baby and we praise the
Lord that even though the delivery was long, the Lord answered prayer (twice
during the childbirth, a c-section was avoided) and he arrived in good
health. The name « Simeon » means « he who hears ».
Our Lord heard the
prayers and answered.
As for the work on our building, the contractor has had some personal
problems and the work that should have been done last year, has not been
done. He has now canceled our contract and we are looking for a new
contractor. Pray that this work can be done soon and finally we will be
able to have the dedication of the building!
We now have the Christian radio on the web. See http://sentinelle.org for
this. For the moment, there is a selection of music and programs that are
playing but soon, the full program will be available. Of course everything
is in French, but if you know people who understand French, please give them
our web address.
We praise the Lord for the 8 students at the Bible Institute in Paris and
for a couple from the States should eventually join them. At the end of the
last school year, we only had one prospective student in view. This year I
am teaching Hermeneutics and methods of communications. We plan on having
some of the students here in Lille at least once a month to be a helping
hand.
Our project to open a small Christian bookstore in the front part of our
building is on hold, as we are waiting until the front of the building is
finished. Please do continue to pray for this.
This past year, with the work on the building, the selling of our house
(closed in July, PTL!) and our moving into the apartment above the church
hall, we did not get to the States this year. Judy did go for 2 weeks in
August to see her mother (at 93 years old, her health is continually
declining). We are praying about visiting churches together between
mid-January and mid-April. If you would like for us to visit your church,
please let us know.
Other family news, Nathaneal at 19 years old, is in his second year of «
prep-school » that could allow him to enter some of the best engineering
schools in France. He would like to be in research in his future.
Our latest « spiritual » baby is Françoise. She is a friend
of Violette,
(that we have mentioned in the past) that has recently trusted the Lord.
Please pray for the salvation of her husband and teenage son. Her husband
is very much into philosophy and her son is going through a period of
rebellion. Both need the Lord. Pray that Françoise will grow in the
knowledge of our Savior.
Please note our new address: 44 rue du Faubourg de Béthune, 59000 Lille,
France and our new telephone number: (33)3.20.57.09.26
Again we want to thank you for your part in this ministry. May Our Lord
bless.
Yours in Christ,
Greg and Judy Sirmons
