April 2005 Prayer Calendar for CrossWay International
A Forgotten Thank You - I was told in Ethiopia on my last
trip to be sure
and tell the Americans thank you for liberating Iraq. "This has
retarded
the expansion of Islam in southern Ethiopia in a significant way."
April 1 - Pray for our Board of Directors meeting. We
will be discussing a
number of important issues on this date.
April 2 - Pray for Lawson Sampson as he is heading up
a soccer tournament in
Badagry, Nigeria. Pray that many will hear and respond to the many gospel
invitations.
April 3 - Pray for the search for more office space and/or
the sale of Dean
and Joan's house. This is a huge decision and we truly want what is
best
to move the ministry forward.
April 4 - Pray for Nelson Pervaz in Pakistan and his ministry
among the
many Muslims of this country. Pray for his plans to hold some meetings
in
May.
April 5 - Pray that God would create a pure heart in each
of us.
April 6 - Pray for greater boldness among Christians to
share their faith in
a kind and gentle manner that touches and impacts the hearts of unbelievers.
Pray for Gary, who cleaned our carpet and called tonight to line up
a lunch
to talk more about Christ.
April 7 - Pray for Sergiu and Tanya in Moldova as they
minister to the youth
of that country. Pray for the desperate plight of many teenage girls
who
are forced into prostitution.
April 8 - Pray for more workers needed in Ethiopia to
help start the English
School (for evangelism). We are struggling to find good materials for
teaching English as a second language, especially the beginners course.
April 9 - Pray for Dean's plans for his upcoming trip
to country "X". This
country is Islamic but we have seen some inroads made on some previous
trips.
April 10 - Pray for Dean's postponed trip to Guyana, and
for the recovery
from the terrible flooding they experienced. Pray too for Bill and Diana
Upchurch, my friends in Guyana. They are currently under attack by some
unscrupulous characters.
April 11 - Pray for Melaku Abebe in Ethiopia and his work
with church
planting and preparations to teach the Make It Clear! seminar.
April 12 - Pray for Kim Warner in Ethiopia who wants to
teach in the English
School in Ethiopia and for her heart and desire to use this for evangelism.
Pray too that CrossWay International will get registered soon without
difficulties.
April 13 - Pray for wisdom in how we might reach those
with whom we work and
encounter on a daily basis. (Like Gary who cleaned our carpet last week)
April 14 - Pray for Johan Deraeve in Belgium as he and
his wife Kersti get
settled into their young marriage and ministry. Pray for wisdom for
them as
they research how best to reach the Belgians. This is truly one of the
most
difficult mission fields.
April 15 - Pray for those who pay taxes! That we will
render to God the
things that are God's and to Caesar the things that are Caesar's.
April 16 - Pray for more opportunities to share the gospel.
April 17 - Pray for Dean as he lines up future trips for
the coming months.
He has invitations to a number of countries and wants to have the Lord's
direction on which ones to accept.
April 18 - Pray for Fernando Diaz in Spain as he continues
to expand his
radio ministry of evangelism through "Encounter Radio".
April 19 - Pray for Micah Chollar, a pilot in the Air
Force, who is
stationed in Germany but travels to various places of danger.
April 20 - Pray for Sergiu's last semester in seminary
in Moldova and that
he will take full advantage of this great opportunity to learn more
about
God through His Word.
April 21 - Pray for greater love among Christians as this
is the key way
others may come to know Christ.
April 22 - Pray for greater clarity in sharing the good
news of Christ, how
He died for our sins and rose from the dead. May we encourage others
to
trust alone in Christ for their salvation using clear terminology..
April 23 - Pray for Sheila Harding, working on the Mercy
Ship with some
very difficult circumstances. Her latest email was full of hope but
also
hardship. Pray for her heart of compassion and that God will keep her
safe.
April 24 - Pray that the gospel will spread swiftly and
be honored wherever
we may have a chance to share it.
April 25 - Pray for the Chollar children as they each
serve the Lord in
their own unique way. Jason (now 30 years old!) is worship pastor of
a
church in the Seattle area, Rachel is married to a Border Patrol agent,
Micah is a pilot in the Air Force and Bethany is in her last year at
Wayland
Baptist University.
April 26 - Pray for Nelson Oberholtzer, one of our Directors
as he
recovers from his cancer. Praise the Lord he is walking much better
and no
longer needs the use of a cane.
April 27 - Pray for Gilda Aragon, another Director who
is recovering from
Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. She was in hospital and rehabilitation
for months but is making a good recovery now.
April 28 - Pray for the many "fatherless" young
men whom the Lord brings
into my life. What a blessing it is to share with them that God is "the
helper of the fatherless".
April 29 - Pray for the salvation of Gary, Karen, Ben,
Majeed and many
others who have heard the gospel but not yet trusted in Christ.
April 30 - Pray for the safety of those in hostile countries
where they do
not have the freedom we have in America.
